Why I picked this topic.

The project Censored list has many worthy news worthy stories that are vastly under reported. This topic of the FBI with holding information about an assassination plot against the Occupy movement caught my eye. On the surface it seems more American centric than a lot of the other stories, but thinking about brings it to a more global scene.

If the FBI is willing to withhold a threat against American citizens, what are they or other government organizations willing to allow happen around the world. America is one of, if not the most, powerful nation on the world. The FBI is on the forefront of that power, mostly inside of the country. If the FBI is willing to withhold this information from American citizens, what about threats they learn of abroad? This case could make or break the secretive power of the FBI and other organizations like it within the U.S.

This project censored project will deal with the allegations that the FBI dismissed and ignored threats against members of the occupy movement. As stated in this article, the names of the person or persons involved with the threats on the occupy movement have been redacted. Meaning that it appears the FBI is protecting such individuals. This story is still on going and has yet to be covered by major new media. With the idea a government agency would allow threats of violence or actual violence against peaceful protesters, this story should be brought to the attention of the public.

This blog article also shows, with evidence, how the FBI viewed the occupy movement. Many other blogs and third party news media have similar articles about this topic, or that touch upon this topic. With my blogproject I hope to tie them all together.
